I helped her mama to breastfeed almost a year ago, and I had the pleasure of getting together for breakfast to talk about what went down and how she has held on to her breastfeeding relationship, even while back to work. This mama struggled hard for the first six weeks, then had a life-threatening complication from delivery which (thank God) she had in the doctor’s office with me (did you know I was also a postpartum nurse?) and another medical professional. This nursing relationship was hard-won, and is SO incredibly special to both mama and baby; the connection between them is palpable. I never cease to be amazed by the strength of women and the love they have for their babies!
This baby has a badass mother.
